Position Function:

Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering. The ideal candidate would have measurable expertise in one or more of the following: levees, slopes, embankments, dredging or dredged materials, geotechnical aspects of pavements, underground structures or facilities, or geotechnical aspects of military engineering. The ability to perform field investigations, laboratory testing, and/or applied research in one or more of these areas is preferred.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate is responsible for supporting the teaching, research, and outreach mission of the department and performing assigned administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a Ph.D. in closely related area with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET certified institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Professional and academic experience.
A potential for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in several areas of the civil engineering program.
An interest in developing an externally funded research program and supporting graduate and undergraduate research competencies.
Preference for candidates with a Professional Engineering license.
