The Employer Outreach and Career Development Coordinator position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the College of Business with additional accountability to the Associate Director of Career Services and Programs at the Career Center. This position is responsible for career advisement/development activities for students and alumni through one-on-one appointments and in groups on career related topics. This role assists in building and maintaining relationships across the College of Business and Career Center. This position coordinates activities related to the career programs, events, and services across all departments in the College of Business. This role works closely with each department to recruit and engage employers in the business sector and assists the Career Center Employer Relations team in connecting with employers and alumni for on-campus recruiting activities and approving relevant job postings. Additional duties and responsibilities may change as programs are added and/or enhanced or as needs dictate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Provide comprehensive career counseling and coaching through one-on-one appointments and in groups on career related topics including major and career exploration, resume/cover letter critiques, job and internship search strategies, applying to graduate or professional school, mock interviews, networking, and addressing any additional needs of students and alumni within their respective college.
2) Serve as Career Center liaison to students, on-campus faculty/staff, employers, and alumni and stay up-to-date on academic majors/tracks/trends/for assigned area(s).
3) Develop core presentations and coordinate workshops/seminars/presentations for assigned area(s).
4) Participate in orientations, program requests, as well as campus-engagement activities.
5) Assists with population-specific Career Fairs and/or events.
6) Coordinates and manages software solutions and physical resources for resumes, interviewing, and career development.
7) Provide staffing support for Career Center and College of Business career fairs and events that promote the career development of students and alumni.
8) Market upcoming events, fairs, workshops, and resources to students through Connections, departmental contacts, and college/major-specific listservs.
9) Update student records in Connections on a case-by-case basis.
10) Meet with students to complete necessary cooperative education and/or internship paperwork; coordinate with Cooperative Education Office to complete paperwork process.
11) Assist the Manager of Assessment and Technology in the collection of First Destination Survey data.
12) Collaborate with Employer Relations team to promote interview schedules and appropriate recruitment activities to students.
13) Pursue, manage, evaluate, and improve recruiting relationships with hiring organizations to maximize student employment.
14) Interact extensively with company representatives to stay current on needed employee skills, business issues and to assess students' performance in the recruiting process and workplace.
15) Stay current of domestic and international job market trends, best practices in higher education career services and ethical guidelines within the career services profession.
16) Align student and employer needs to maximize the effectiveness of recruiting processes for both parties and provide excellent services in order to build strong employer partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Supervisory Requirements: No authority or responsibility for other positions
Education: Bachelor's degree with a focus in Business or related field
Experience: 5 years experience in Corporate/Business/Higher Education
Substitutions: Indicated education and experience is required; no substitution allowed

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, or closely related fields.
Ten + (10+) years Corporate/Executive experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Corporate Recruiting practices, resume writing, career coaching, relationship building with corporate and small businesses.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirement with no requirement for heavy lifting. Majority work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Routine deadlines with sufficient lead times; variance in work volume both seasonal and predictable; prioritizing responsibilities based on urgency can be anticipated; multi-staffed office with various interruptions; occasional exposure to demands and pressures from individuals other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires verbal communication, audible attention and stationary positioning.
