The position is for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track instructor to teach online and/or face-to-face methods courses in Chemistry.

Salary Grade:  UC

For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Department Profile:

Our Bulldog Department of Chemistry family of more than 120 dedicated and diverse personnel includes 30 faculty and staff, 90 students, and other associates hailing from more than 16 nations and 20+ states. We are a vibrant and multi-cultural leading academic unit in the College of Arts & Sciences.

In addition to serving the basic science and higher level chemistry curricula needs of nearly every major on campus including some 5000 non-majors, our department graduates an average of 18 Bachelor’s, 4 Master’s, and 10 Doctoral professionals in chemistry each year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Teach up to four undergraduate classes each semester in the Department of Chemistry.
-Coordinate Analytical Chemistry labs.
-Participate in departmental activities as assigned.
- Demonstrate a high commitment to quality teaching.
-Work effectively with students and colleagues.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Master's degree in Chemistry.
-Experience in a classroom setting

Preferred Qualifications:

-PhD in Chemistry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
-Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with a diverse group of individuals.
