Position Function:

This position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Campus Card Office within the User Services unit of Information Technology Services (ITS) and reports to the Campus Card Manager. The Campus Card Office produces and manages MSU ID cards for students, faculty, staff, retirees, and affiliates. The Campus Card Office also produces and manages key cards and meal cards for special events/camps and coordinates services associated with the MSU ID card.

Salary Grade:  11

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provides front-line customer service as the first point of contact MSU ID Cards
2. Responds to inquiries regarding MSU ID Card account status, usage, and assisting cardholders with technical issues or problems via phone, email, and ticket system
3. Coordinates and prints MSU ID Cards (ad hoc and batch process) and prepares them for distribution
6. Documents processes, work instructions, time tracking, and daily procedures
7. Supports start of term activities and other special carding events (orientations, move-in days)
8. Provides back-up support for Campus Card Manager, Service Desk staff, and other ITS units as necessary
9. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Two years customer service experience in a service-based environment; knowledge of basic computer skills with general knowledge of desktop software applications.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree (or higher) in a relevant study that may include, but is not limited to, business or office administration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
2. Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, time management/organizational skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Ability to focus on detail.
5. Basic skills with desktop software applications such as Word and Excel.
6. Ability to show and teach others how to use information technology.
7. Ability to learn new technologies.
8. Trouble shooting aptitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
