The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Mississippi State University invites applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with an anticipated start date of Fall 2025. This role will be responsible for teaching, research, and service.

Salary Grade:  UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, develop a substantial research program in one or more areas of statistics, provide direction and effective leadership for M.S. and Ph.D. students, and engage in departmental, university and scientific community service functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful Applicants will hold a Doctoral degree, or a doctoral degree expected no later than July 2025 in Statistics. Commitment to effective graduate and undergraduate teaching. Demonstrated success in research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Focus on Computational Statistics and/or Data Science.
