The College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University is seeking a part-time Intermittent Worker to work in the LARAC department

Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Salary Grade:  UC

Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges.  For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to work weekend and holidays. Employee will work every other weekend. Normal shift is 7am until 3pm on weekends and schedule around class schedule for weekdays. Responsible for the care and use of teaching, client and research animals. Feeding, watering, observations and documentation of environmental condition for animal space. Support full-time Animal Health Technicians in their daily duties working with animals. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

ability to follow directions, ability to take care of animals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to lift, stoop and bend
- Ability to handle, load, restrain, and work with large and companion animals
- Ability to walk and stand on feet for prolonged periods of time

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Job frequently requires standing, walking, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
