Position Function:
Assist principal investigator to conduct mycotoxin biocontrol.
Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year.

Department Profile:
The Department of Agricultural Science and Plant Protection has academic, research, and extension education missions within the traditions of land-grant universities. The Department has 26 faculty in the entomology and plant pathology disciplines. The Department offers B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees and currently advises approximately 100 undergraduate and 30 graduate students.
Area of Specialization:
Plant Bacteriology and Corn Field trials
Anticipated Appointment Date:
May 2026.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Bacterial isolation and identification, inoculum preparation, lab and greenhouse biocontrol trials, data analyses and other tasks assigned by lab manager and PI.
Minimum Qualifications:
Research experiences in microbiology
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biology and agriculture- related fields.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Plant Pathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Require working in a Biosafety level-2 research laboratory
• Greenhouse and field conditions
• Frequent, external imposed deadlines
