The research professor will be expected to incorporate innovation and develop advances in research concepts, methodologies, and approaches as needed. The research professor will supervise a team of engineers, computer scientists, and UAS operators, as well as collaborate with other researchers as appropriate. Assure the safety and quality of the products manufactured by the Custer Dairy Processing Plant (CDPP). This includes four types of cheeses, bottled milk, buttermilk, butter and ice cream with the emphasis being on the cheese. The CDPP supplies the MSU campus with dairy products and provides aging and warehousing services for the cheese sold through the MAFES Sales Store. The Quality Assurance Reporting Supervisor (QARS) would work closely with the Plant Manager and Assistant Manager during everyday functioning and problem-solving in the plant activities in order to meet these needs. This person will report to the CDPP Plant Manager and to the MAFES Associate Director. This facility is also used for educating students in dairy products processing and for conducting dairy research. The QARS supervisor would assist in educating and guiding students and others in proper use and cleaning of the facilities during their time in the plant.
