Position Function:

This is a full-time youth development position based in the Center for 4-H Youth Development. The function of the associate it to oversee the 4-H Leadership Team and work with Extension Agents to provide opportunities for youth to develop their leadership skills through programs such as the 4-H Ambassadors under the leadership of a State 4-H Extension Specialist or Faculty member. This position will also work to identify 4-H alumni and develop opportunities for current 4-H youth to intern with, or be mentored by, 4-H alumni.

Salary Grade:  13

This position will be located in the Center for 4-H Youth Development in Starkville, MS.

Anticipated Appointment Date:

February 2024. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Researches and reviews relevant articles and issues relating to the program area
· Plans and develops content, curriculum, techniques, and competencies for relevant programming.
· Identifies needed initiatives and creates and implements them.
· Responsible for developing policies and procedures.
· Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of training and educational programs related to the program area.
· Identifies appropriate training sites and audiences.
· Attends advisory meetings and fosters relationships with community partners.
· Identifies opportunities for collaboration.
· Teaches the community program curriculum.
· Designs and implements evaluation of program or project.
· Compiles and writes reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree. 
Licensure: Valid driver's license.

Rank and Salary will be commensurate with education and/or level of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in youth development or education as an employee and/or volunteer in school and/or extracurricular environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of youth development programs.
Ability to travel.
Good communication skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
4. Travel is required.
