To work with MSU students with disabilities to facilitate accommodated testing services and to communicate with faculty and staff regarding student testing arrangements.

Salary Grade:  12

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the administration of exams for students with disabilities, including scheduling testing rooms with appropriate accommodations; coordinating with faculty and staff to arrange exam pick-up/return and reserving testing rooms and computer labs as needed.
2. Maintain timely and accurate electronic student records.
3. Serve as point of contact for the Disability Resource Center for accommodated testing services.
4. Coordinate facilities and testing schedules to provide seamless service to examinees.
5. Develop/edit/update training related to testing procedures each semester.
6. Create and regularly update operations manual for testing and assistive technology. Ensure materials are current and complete each semester.
7. Ensures testing rooms are adequately monitored with a proctor whenever students are testing.
8. Counsel students on rights and responsibilities regarding to academic accommodations, departmental policies and procedures, and University policies.
9. Provides individual and group demonstrations on technology support tools.
10. Train and supervise undergraduate student workers and assist in same for Graduate Assistants as it relates to testing work roles.
11. Create schedule of undergraduate student employees and graduate assistants’ coverage of testing duties.
12. Attend and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
13. Proficiently operate, trouble shoot, and train students and faculty on Assistive Technology used at the Disability Resource Center (DRC), e.g. Kurzweil 3000, Neo Smart Pens, Dragon dictation software, Zoomtext, apps, etc. Create and upload assistive technology instructional videos to the webpage for the DRC.
14. Act as point of contact for examinee concerns. Consult with the Associate Director or Director in a timely manner as needed.
15. Monitor testing supplies and need for order fulfilment and ensures testing facilities are adequate.
16. Maintain and update records and reports as needed.
17. May perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may supervise graduate assistants and/or student workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):

 

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year work experience in test coordination or
1 year work experience with people with disabilities or
1 year work experience in a position with significant attention to detail plus the education

Substitution:
When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional experience toward the education requirement at a rate of one (1) year of relevant experience per year of required education.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Requires limited lifting of files and records up to 25 pounds. Work is primarily performed in a indoor in a temperature-controlled facility.
2. Frequent external imposed deadlines; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position; involves conflict-resolution or similar interactions involving emotional issues or stress on a regular basis.
3. Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
