The Career Center Employer Recruitment Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Employer Relations and Recruiting. This position will work closely with the Associate Director to ensure that strong recruiting relationships are developed and maintained. The position manages the logistics of the recruitment and employment process of Mississippi State University on-campus recruiting and online job postings. This position requires a customer-focused individual, with the ability to deal effectively with employers, faculty, staff, and internal Career Center staff members and provide solutions to problems that might arise in the recruiting process. As the first point of contact for employers seeking talent at MSU, this position’s ability to display high quality service is very important. Duties and responsibilities may change as programs are added and/or enhanced or as needs dictate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Direct and supervise the initial contact with employers.
• Coordinate with employers to conduct on-campus/virtual/remote/hybrid employer focused events, info sessions, on-campus interviews, etc.
• Oversee the recruitment functionality of the Career Center platform, including system utilization, operational support, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless performance.
• Greet all employers for on-campus interviews; always maintain a calm and courteous office environment.
• Assist Career Center leadership in maintaining and implementing standard operating procedures for employer recruiting activities (e.g., kiosk management, on-campus recruiting, data collection, record keeping, and other procedural standards).
• Coordinate collection of and participate in the preparation of on-campus recruiting and event management reports.
• Maintain on-campus recruiting inventory; procure all supplies.
• Approve new employer registrations and non-OCR job postings through Connections.
• Schedule and coordinate employer information sessions.
• Assist the Associate Director of Employer Relations and Recruiting in maintaining productive relationships with organizations who are recruiting or posting employment opportunities for Mississippi State University students and alumni.
• Handle all employer questions, as it relates to updates or adjustments with their Connections account.
• Manage OCR schedules for the following events: PGM, Career Expo After Interview Days, Education Career Fair, Co-op Interview Days, CALS Career Expo After Interview Days, Accounting Career Fair After Interview Days
• Assist with promotional materials for on-campus recruiting, information sessions and hiring events.
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of recruitment trends to improve services.
• Provide technical support to employers and organizations participating in Career Center recruiting events.
• Establish and promote Career Center and Mississippi State University (MSU) guidelines, best practices, and standards for employers.
• Import and export data using Access and Excel for analysis, reporting and presentation software such as PowerPoint.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree
Focus: Business Management, Information Technology Services, Business Office Technology, Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations, Human Resources, Hospitality or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have a strong interest and commitment to the educational development and career preparation of college students.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on database management.
• Strong computing background with demonstrated experience with management information systems, Web-based applications, and an affinity for applying technology to achieve productivity.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective telephone and public speaking skills.
• Ability to independently perform high quality work following well-defined policies and procedures while simultaneously performing in a team environment.
• Ability to initiate and follow through to completion special projects and/or assignments taking an idea from conception to implementation.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with students, faculty, employers, and coworkers and have an in-depth knowledge of the academic programs of the university.
• Must be able to engage in multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Flexible and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate change.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Offices, spreadsheet, and database software packages.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting, talking, hearing.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, handling objects with hands, and lifting to 25 pounds.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
