Manages comprehensive digital campaign and coordinates digital media production for the unit.

Salary Grade:  14

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy to expand our reach,
support the MSU brand, and facilitate helpful interactions with the Admissions office
to promote an efficient enrollment process.
2. Manage Enrollment Services’ presence in social media networking sites and work with
the website development team to ensure social media tools are kept up to date.
3. Write, create, and/or produce compelling stories, photographs, graphics, and videos
for publications on the department’s website, email campaigns, newsletters, and
social media outlets to engage various audiences (prospective students, parents, high
school counselors, etc.)
4. Provide training as needed to departmental staff on best practices for creating,
managing, monitoring, and developing content social media channels.
5. Establish and monitor benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media efforts
and report analytics on the effectiveness of such efforts. Benchmark against
competitors and make recommendations for improvements.
6. Assist in integrating social media into overall marketing initiatives for the department.
7. Work with the Enrollment Marketing team and Office of Public Affairs to gather and
create branded content to ensure consistency across marketing channels.
8. Work closely with the campus visit and recruitment team to understand all areas of
undergraduate student recruitment to ensure accurate information is presented on
social media platforms.
9. Assist with creation and execution of print and digital pieces for prospective students,
families, and school counselors. This includes Slate emails and printed marketing
pieces.
10. Manage inventory of promotional items for the marketing team
11. Oversee the material request process for the enrollment marketing team and the
recruitment team

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Journalism, English, Mass Communications, or a related field

Experience (yrs.) Three years directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position

Substitution for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of instructional audio and video production principles, methods,
techniques and standards.
• Knowledge of procedures and documentation requirements for compliance with
copyright laws and standards.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
• Skill in the use of computers, graphic design and instructional media programs.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.

Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.

Job frequently requires sitting, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.

Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
