The Project Manager for elementary teacher training is responsible for providing administration and management that supports the mission of the Center for Cyber Education in the area of elementary teacher computer science professional development.

Salary Grade:  15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following examples are intended as illustrations only of the various types of duties assigned in positions allocated to this classification. 1. Administer and manager the design, development, and delivery of a comprehensive Mississippi teacher training program for elementary teachers.
2. Provide instruction and mentoring for a cohort of teaching professionals through a delivery of face-to-face and online trainings for the professional development program for elementary teachers.
3. Conduct preparations for materials, meeting sites and contacting participants so high quality training is provided.
4. Work collaboratively with the CCE, Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), and Office of Compliance and Reporting.
5. Coordinate and assist with professional development programs for instructors on implementation of statewide curriculum frameworks and other related topics.
6. Plan and coordinate professional development activities for elementary computer science programs.
7. Provide learning management system (LMS) administration duties as needed, including development and maintenance of an elementary computer science course in LMS and contribute to curriculum resource guides as needed.
8. Assist the CCE Professional Learning Team with all training initiatives as needed.
9. Attend all Train the Trainer sessions and other trainings as assigned.
10. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience teaching in K-12, higher education, and/or postsecondary education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse
community.
• Ability to innovate and work as both a team member and team leader.
• Strong ability to work autonomously and independently to manage projects.
• Experience mentoring and influencing others to accomplish tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Experience with making presentations and leading meetings. Ability to organize
and coordinate projects and prepare a written plan with objectives, actions, milestones, budgets, timelines, success measurements, and assessment.
• Experience creating a course in an LMS.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• No or very limited physical effort required.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• Some travel involved.
