Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Elementary Education at Mississippi State University on the Meridian Campus. The Division of Education invites applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor position in Elementary Education beginning fall 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Division of Education offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in elementary education. Primary responsibilities include teaching and advisement; supervision of field experience; and providing service and outreach.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Elementary Education or a related field; 2 years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher; demonstration of excellence in teaching (Associate level) or demonstration of potential for excellence in teaching (Assistant level). ABD's will be considered if the degree will be completed by January 1, 2026. Level of appointment is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
More than 2 years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher
National Board certification
Experience with CAEP accreditation
Experience with online and hybrid teaching methodologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge:
• Expertise in the subject area and curriculum development.
• Understanding of learning styles and effective teaching strategies.
• Familiarity with instructional technology and assessment methods.
Skills:
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to design and deliver engaging, effective learning experiences.
• Proficiency in using learning management systems and digital tools.
Abilities:
• Ability to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Capacity to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and institutional service.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
