Position Function:
To assist in academic advising, primarily for the BSIS program but also to help oversee academic records of majors housed in the College of Arts &Sciences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides information to undergraduate students regarding degree requirements.
2. Serves as central academic advisor for upper division majors in the BSIS degree program.
3. Confers with faculty advisors and department heads relative to academic records, credits, policy and program requirements.
4. Evaluates transcripts from other educational institutions to determine which courses meet requirements for specific curricula.
5. Assist with junior year check sheets for the College.
6. Answers email inquiries sent by prospective, new, and current students.
7. Compiles statistical data for various reports as requested.
8. Assist academic affairs staff in the College of Arts & Sciences as needed.
9. Participates in student orientation and recruitment events for the BSIS major.
10. Assists Director of Academic Relations in conducting weekly BSIS evaluation workshops for students changing into the major.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
One year of experience in academic records or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to communicate and relate to students and university personnel.
2. Knowledge of word processing and spread sheet programs.
3. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills required.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
