The Equipment Room Fellow is responsible for assisting with the daily operational duties of assigned Olympic Sports, including but not limited to the issuing, retrieval and daily supervision of various types of equipment and apparel. Additionally, this individual will assist in managing the Olympic Sports Equipment Room, athletic laundry services, maintaining accurate equipment inventory, properly use and support the care and maintenance of athletic equipment according to established policies and procedures for any assigned equipment rooms and other sports programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists in the issue, retrieval, use and maintenance of athletic equipment, gear and apparel according to established policies and procedures.
2. Follows required procurement procedures, documentation and processes to order and receive new equipment. Assists in the maintenance of current inventories of all athletic equipment, apparel, gear and supplies.
3. Assists in the fitting, issuing, care, maintenance, repair and reconditioning of athletic apparel, equipment and uniforms.
4. Performs laundry service function for all sports uniforms as required.
5. Supervises student equipment managers and assigned equipment room.
6. Maintains a continuing and thorough knowledge of all applicable University, departmental, SEC and NCAA rules and regulations and complies with those rules and regulations.
7. Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by the equipment operations unit head and/or department administrator.
8. Serve as visiting team liaison for home contests as required.
9. Assists assigned sports with Adidas apparel orders.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s and one year of experience and AEMA certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of certain fundamental concepts.
2. Ability to work long and irregular hours.
3. Ability to travel.
4. Ability to work in extreme weather temperatures.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.

Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.

Requires handling of heavy weight objects up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and on occasion up to 150 lbs.
