Position Function:

Performs complex and specialized tasks and/or services requiring advanced skills in one or more library specializations. Plans and coordinates the day-to-day operational activities of a program. Coordinates, prioritizes, and oversees the work of lower-level staff and/or students.

Salary Grade:  13

Anticipated Appointment Date:

September 1, 2026. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Oversees, coordinates, and/or performs integrated activities in support of the development, implementation, and marketing of program function.
2. Serves as liaison between students, faculty, staff, other departments, and/or external constituencies on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative functions or issues.
3. Coordinates activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and student employees on project management.
4. Supervises and trains staff, student employees, volunteers, and/or interns, as appropriate.
5. Provides guidance and assistance to library patrons, regarding general to complex information, demonstrating proficiency in library resources, make referrals as appropriate.
6. Provides general problem-solving by working with other library departments, vendors, and other entities outside the library.
7. Oversees collection and analysis of data; prepares scheduled and special reports, as appropriate; maintains program and project records and statistical information, if appropriate.
8. Performs specialized activities of a programmatic nature in direct support of the accomplishment of program objectives and protocol.
9. Monitors and performs daily operations.
10. Facilitates meetings and special projects.
11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Full supervisory responsibility for other employees is a major responsibility and includes training, evaluating, and making or recommending pay, promotion, or other employment decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
One year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Indicated education is required; no substitutions allowed.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
- Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
- Records maintenance and project management skills.
- Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
- Ability to interact with students, faculty, and/or staff in a team environment.
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
