The Extension Program Associate assists the Regional Extension Coordinator in the development and implementation of county Extension programs, and is administratively responsible to the Regional Extension Coordinator.

Salary Grade:  09

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The 4-H Program Associate position is a vital member of the Extension team and plays an important role in providing leadership, guidance, and support to the youth of Benton County. This individual will work closely with local youth, volunteers, schools, community organizations, and 4-H clubs to promote and enhance positive educational opportunities that support youth development and engagement. The successful candidate will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing educational programs and activities designed to foster the development of essential life skills, including leadership, communication,
citizenship, teamwork, and responsibility. In addition, the 4-H Program Associate will
help strengthen and expand local 4-H clubs and youth groups while encouraging
participation in county, district, and state 4-H events and programs. This position
requires strong communication and organizational skills, a passion for working with
youth, and the ability to build positive relationships within the community. The 4-H
Program Associate will serve as a representative of Extension by supporting the mission of providing meaningful educational experiences that positively impact the youth and
families of Benton County.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years' Experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Applicants should have the ability to work within a team environment, exhibit strong self-motivation, and be task-oriented. Experience with the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) will be expected. The applicant must have good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with faculty, Extension staff, clientele, and the general public.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
* No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
* Occasionally will be required to lift more than 50 pounds and stand or walk for long periods of time.
