Position Function:

To perform duties necessary for the routine cleaning and upkeep of buildings.

Salary Grade:  CS*-2

Area of Specialization:

Custodial Services - Facilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist Custodial Supervisor with supervision of staff.
2. Assist with Timeclock management and payroll entries.
3. Ensure outside entries are swept and clean of debris, spiderwebs, etc.
4. Provide a welcoming and professional environment through cleanliness and service.
5. Assist and help with special event organization, set-up, servicing, and removal.
6. Sweep, dust mop, wet mop and scrub floors.
7. Clean windows, mirrors, walls, doors and other building surfaces.
8. Clean, wax and buff floors.
9. Clean restroom facilities and replenish supplies.
10. Collect trash and empty in trash collection containers.
11. Move furniture, equipment, supplies and other materials as requested.
12. Dust and polish furniture.
13. May spray rooms for pests.
14. May vacuum and shampoo carpets.
15. Perform related duties as assigned by Custodial Supervisor and Director of Facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read and write plus one year of experience at the preceding level (Custodian I) or equivalent.

ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Some reading and writing.
Experience in custodial care maintenance.
Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.

Occasional-Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.

Job frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, climbing or balancing, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Job occasionally requires sitting, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting more than 100 pounds.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

The Instructional Designer works within the College of Business in support of the Boots to Business Revenue Readiness (B2B RR) cooperative agreement funded by the US Small Business Administration (SBA). The follow-on training program known as Boots to Business - Execute and Grow, provides self-paced, on demand, entrepreneurship training to veterans and military spouses nationally. Courses focus on Business Execution and Growth.
