The Department of Finance and Economics serves the State of Mississippi by providing advanced educational opportunities for students in the fields of Economics, Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate. As part of the College of Business, the department is responsible for instruction leading to a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with majors in Economics and Finance along with a minor concentration in Insurance. The department also sponsors the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a major in Economics for the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as, minors in both Business Economics and Finance. Graduate programs offered by the department include the Master of Arts (MA) in Economics, as well as, the Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in both Applied Economics and Finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching Finance at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
2. Research activity required as part of the College's accreditation standards.
3. Advising student organizations.
4. Engaging in routine departmental, college, and university service functions,
5. Engaging in other related duties, as directed.
ABD or completed Ph.D. in Finance is required. ABD applicants must complete Ph.D. prior to August 16, 2018. All applicants must demonstrate teaching experience at the undergraduate level, demonstrate past success or potential to engage in scholarship required to maintain teaching status, and possess effective written and oral communication skills.
ABDs or degree pending considered (all but DISS):
Ph.D. in Finance, as well as an established record of effective teaching at the college level. Preference will be given to those applicants with the ability to teach graduate level courses, as well as, those with professional credentials (CFA, CFP, CTP, Series 6, Series 7, etc.).

3. Ability to work effectively with students in a classroom environment.
4. Willingness to serve on departmental and college committees.
5. Intra personal skills necessary to work effectively with students and colleagues in a multidisciplinary department.
